Versions of the ALUGAS TRAVELMate
Apart from the different capacities of 27 and 33 liters, you can also distinguish the TRAVELMate by the level indicator. On the one hand, there is the tried-and-tested mechanical version with a limited display radius and the TRAVELMate 2.0 with an electronic level indicator.
The fill level of the ALUGAS TRAVELMate with mechanical multivalves is indicated by a float. As the height of the aluminum refillable gas cylinder is greater than its diameter, it is not possible to cover the entire height. The lever length of the float is limited by the diameter of the tank. As a result, you initially have the feeling that no gas is being consumed before the indicated fill level drops more quickly. You can easily understand this phenomenon (see the following video).
With the ALUGAS TRAVELMate 2.0, you are not limited by the swivel range: its new capacitive level gauge works electronically. The LED level indicator of the new multivalves extends almost to the bottom of the bottle. This means that almost 100 % of the fill level can be detected; only in the lower area is there a residual amount of approx. 3 % that cannot be measured due to manufacturing tolerances.
When installing one, 2 or even 3 bottles or a tank system, you can use an additional changeover switch (rotary switch) to call up the respective LPG tank or refillable gas bottle.
Reading the gas level of the ALUGAS refillable gas cylinders
With the ALUGAS TRAVELMate 2.0, you can read the fill level on an LED display or have it displayed on your mobile device via a Bluetooth transmitter.
The tried and tested version with mechanical multivalves also offers transmission of the limited fill level via Bluetooth transmitter. You can also install a wired display. To do this, first replace the mechanical display on the multivalve with a remote display, to which you then connect an LED display.
Connections
The output connections differ according to G.12 small cylinder connection (KLF) in accordance with EN15252: G.12 = W21.8 x 1/14 LH for the German market, for example, and the version with G.2 connection in accordance with EN15252: = W21.8 x 1/14 LH, e.g. for France or Switzerland.
Both threads are almost identical: with the G.12 connection, the sealing ring is located on the cylinder valve; with the G.2 connection, on the other hand, the sealing ring is located on the gas regulator or high-pressure hose.
You must make the right choice here, otherwise a leak in the gas system is possible.
Approval of the ALUGAS TRAVELMate refillable gas cylinders
The ALUGAS TRAVELMate has a CE declaration of conformity in accordance with Directive 2014/68/EU. The pressurized gas cylinder has an "expiration date" of 10 years from production and can be approved for a further 10 years after passing the test.
Due to the multivalve manufacturer's specifications, the multivalve of the aluminum tank gas cylinder must be replaced after 10 years.
