Mopeka Pro: User guide for setup and use - Mopeka Pro Sensor user guide

The Mopeka Pro Sensor is a practical solution for accurately and reliably monitoring the fill level of your gas cylinders or liquid containers. Perhaps you have just received the sensor and are unsure how to set it up or use it correctly. Don't worry - this Mopeka instruction manual will guide you step by step through the entire process so you can quickly reap the benefits of the Mopeka Pro.

Download and set up the Mopeka app

The first step on the way to using the Mopeka Pro sensor is to download the Mopeka TankCheck app. This is available for both smartphones and tablets and can be downloaded for iOS and Android. After installation, open the app, which initially greets you with a blank screen. This means that no devices are connected yet.

1. create an account

Before you start working with the app, you should set up a user account. To do this, tap on the account icon at the top left of the screen to create an account. This step is required if you want to save your sensor data in the Mopeka Cloud or use a Mopeka Bridge. The cloud offers you the advantage of being able to retrieve your data even when your sensor is out of range of your device.

2. connect the Mopeka Pro Sensor

Once you have created the account, press the green "SYNC" button on your Mopeka Pro Sensor. This will connect the sensor to your smartphone or tablet. Make sure that Bluetooth is activated on your device. If the connection is not established immediately, tap on "Start Scan" in the app to restart the connection process.

3. add and synchronize the sensor

As soon as the Mopeka Pro sensor is connected to the app, it will appear on the screen. If you are using multiple sensors, you can add more at any time. There is no limit to the number of devices you can add in the app. However, please note that the app may respond a little slower with a large number of sensors (over 20).

Attaching the Mopeka Pro sensor

Once the app has been set up, it's time to attach the sensor to the gas cylinder. The Mopeka Pro is a magnetic sensor that can be easily attached to steel cylinders. However, you will need a special mounting frame for aluminum cylinders.

1. ensure a clean surface

Before attaching the sensor, make sure that the surface of the gas cylinder to which the sensor is to be attached is clean. If necessary, wipe the surface with a cloth to remove dust or dirt. This will ensure the measuring accuracy of the sensor.

2. attaching the sensor

The Mopeka Pro is simply attached to the bottle using the magnet. For aluminum bottles, an additional holding frame must be used to fix the sensor. You can also apply a special contact gel to the sensor to improve adhesion and measurement accuracy.

Device settings and adjustments

The Mopeka Pro offers many customization options to optimally adapt the sensor to your needs. Not only can you change the device name, but you can also adjust the tank size and the alarm threshold.

1. customize device name and tank size

You can customize the device name in the app so that you can always keep track of multiple bottles. For example, enter "Bottle left" or "Bottle right" to label the bottles correctly in the app.

As tank sizes are often not standardized in Germany, you have to enter the exact size of your gas cylinder manually. To do this, measure the height of the cylinder without handles and lid and enter this as the tank size in the app. The size is then taken into account as 100% of the tank. From here, you then have to calculate down to 80% when you fill the cylinder with gas. An 80% filling is important here so that the gas can expand at higher temperatures.

2. set the alarm threshold

The app offers the option of setting an alarm threshold. This means you can determine at which fill level you want to be notified. For example, you could set the alarm to 30 % so that you are warned when the level reaches this limit.

Other functions of the Mopeka Pro

The Mopeka Pro offers many additional functions that help you to use the sensor correctly and always keep an overview.

1. firmware updates

The Mopeka Pro sensor is regularly supplied with new software updates. These updates not only improve the performance of the sensor, but also the accuracy of the measurements. You can update the sensor's firmware directly in the app when a new version is available. Simply follow the instructions in the app to perform the update.

2. check sensor position

The app allows you to check the exact position of the sensor. This is particularly important to ensure that the sensor is correctly aligned. The Mopeka Pro Sensor has an internal accelerometer that helps to position the sensor correctly. Make sure that the green dot in the app is exactly between the two lines on the display - this guarantees a precise measurement.

3. monitor sensor quality

The app also shows you the quality of the sensor. This is rated on a 3-star scale, which helps you to understand whether the sensor is working properly. A low rating (1 star) indicates that the sensor has been poorly fitted, or there may be dirt or a lack of sonic grease, which will affect performance.

Change the battery

The Mopeka Pro Sensor uses a CR2032 battery. This usually lasts for several years, depending on how often the sensor is used and how often it transmits data. If the battery needs to be changed, carefully remove the cover cap from the sensor. You can do this easily with a screwdriver. Replace the old battery with a new one and make sure that the arrows on the housing are correctly aligned.

Using the Mopeka LCD monitor

If you prefer not to use a smartphone app, you can use the Mopeka LCD monitor. This monitor displays the fill level directly and can be connected to up to two Mopeka Pro devices. So you can keep an eye on the fill levels even without a smartphone or tablet.

Mopeka Pro for different types of gas cylinders

The Mopeka Pro sensors are compatible with different types of gas cylinders. There are special parameters for setting up CAMPKO and Alugas gas cylinders that you need to enter in the app. The exact cylinder height and volume should be selected according to the information on the cylinders.

1. CAMPKO refillable gas bottlesThe following dimensions (incl. collar) apply to CAMPKO bottles:

  • 388 mm height corresponds to 15 liters
  • 488 mm height corresponds to 22 liters
  • 588 mm height corresponds to 30 liters
  • 688 mm height corresponds to 36 liters

2. alugas refillable gas bottlesThe following dimensions apply to alugas bottles (incl. collar):

  • 597 mm height corresponds to 27.2 liters
  • 688 mm height corresponds to 33.3 liters

Removing sensors from the app

If you want to remove a sensor from the app, you can easily do this by swiping the sensor from right to left and clicking on the red "Delete" button. The sensor will then be removed from the app.

Conclusion

With these detailed Mopeka operating instructions, you should be able to install and set up the Mopeka Pro Sensor without any problems. Whether you want to keep an eye on your gas cylinders or need the measurements for your liquid containers, the Mopeka Pro is a reliable and simple solution. Make sure you make the right settings to optimize the sensor to your needs and benefit from the accurate level indicator.
