QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
What do I need to consider before refuelling for the first time?
The refillable gas cylinders are tested for leaks at the factory using air pressure. Therefore, the Withdrawal valve (handwheel) should be opened before refuelling to release the pressure and then closed again. However, a small amount of residual air remains in the refillable gas cylinder. When refuelling for the first time, this results in enormous coldness inside the tank. In exceptional cases, the float of the fill stop valve may freeze and not close in time. Therefore, never fill the tank with more than 19.6 litres of fuel. Even with a two-bottle system, never fill up with more than specified. Observe the petrol pump's drive during the refuelling process and stop it manually if necessary.
What are the differences between the bottles you offer?
The most important difference is the material. If the weight does not play a major role for you, the steel cylinders are the most favourable options for a sustainable gas supply. If you absolutely want to get by with less additional weight, you should consider our ALUGAS or composite cylinders. You can find out more in the respective cylinder product description.
What are the differences between the composite cylinders on offer?
With composite cylinders, a basic distinction is made between a multivalve cylinder and an OPD valve cylinder. While the OPD bottle scores points for price, the multivalve bottle offers separate connections for refuelling and dispensing as well as a proper fuel gauge on the valve itself.
What happens after 10 years?
After 10 years, the cylinder must be checked again or replaced.
Can the cylinder lie flat?
The cylinder must be mounted vertically to ensure that the 80% filling stop and gaseous withdrawal function.
Which gas may be refuelled?
The so-called bottled gas from the conventional exchange cylinders does not differ in principle from LPG, which you refuel yourself. Both gases are a mixture of propane and butane. Abroad, LPG is also known as GLP or GPL.
