GOK Caramatic SafeDrive PLUS safety gas pressure control system for operating two-cylinder systems in motorhomes and caravans while travelling, for direct connection to the gas cylinder.
The new retrofit solution developed by GOK allows existing gas regulator systems in motorhomes, caravans or vans to be quickly and easily replaced by the Caramatic SafeDrive, thus enabling gas to be used while travelling.
Consisting of:
- Mechanical crash sensor with new pendulum solution
- Low pressure regulator with S2SR overpressure safety device (ÜDS)
- Hose line
- Gas pressure regulator bracket
Technical data
Gas cylinder connection G.12 union nut (W21.8x1/14")
Outlet pipe screw connection 10 or 8 mm (H. 9)
Outlet pressure 30mbar
Output 1.5 kg/h
Area of application e.g. Germany, Austria, Poland, Russia
Hose length 450mm
Maximum permissible pressure 30 bar
Cold-resistant -30°
Hose material Rubber with textile inlay
Advantages Crash sensor with new pendulum solution:
- Faster and easier commissioning and reset after response
- More precise operation and therefore fewer malfunctions due to incorrect response behaviour
- Commissioning possible without any problems, even if the leisure vehicle is on an incline
- Simple retrofitting, as the regulator does not need to be wall-mounted; it is fitted directly to the gas cylinder
- Little space required for installation in the gas cylinder box
- Gas cylinder can also remain permanently open while driving
- Greater safety, as the gas supply is interrupted directly at the gas cylinder in the event of an accident
- Medium-pressure hose (rubber with textile insert; cold-resistant down to -30 °C; hose dimensions 6.3 x 3.5 mm) G 1/4 LH-ÜM x RVS 10 x 450 mm for connecting the system to the vehicle's supply line
- RVS 10 / 8 outlet connection is equipped as standard with a transition piece for connection to 8 mm pipework
- Brackets for safe storage of the regulator on the wall, e.g. when changing the gas cylinder
Approval for
Individual fittings with DIN-DVGW or DVGW type examination certificate or EU type examination certificate DGR
Is retrofitting and installation really that easy?
The gas regulator with integrated crash sensor is simply screwed onto the gas cylinder. The hose line included in the scope of delivery is then connected to the pipework from the vehicle.
In principle, the same applies to the SafeDrive PLUS two-bottle system. All you have to do is screw on two pressure regulators including crash sensor and connect them to each other using a gas hose.
Is it possible to switch from any manufacturer to GOK?
There are no restrictions. You can dismantle the old system and retrofit the Caramatic SafeDrive or install a new one. All you need is one or two gas cylinders and access to the vehicle's pipework.
Why are gas filters or hose rupture protection not necessary?
With Caramatic SafeDrive, the crash sensor is located directly on the gas cylinder and monitors the entire downstream pipework system. There is therefore no need for an additional hose rupture safety device. And because, as mentioned, the system is located directly on the gas cylinder, there is no need for a gas filter. This system design has been tried and tested at GOK for decades and has shown no anomalies with regard to oily residues or contamination in the fittings.
Where exactly is the crash sensor located?
On the Caramatic SafeDrive, the crash sensor is located in the blue housing directly after the gas cylinder valve and before the pressure regulator.
Can I always leave the gas cylinder open with Caramatic SafeDrive?
In a nutshell: Yes, the gas cylinder may always remain open and gas appliances such as the heater or refrigerator may also be operated while travelling.
