SikaLastomer®-514 G is a paste-like, thixotropic, solvent-based sealant based on butyl. It does not harden and can be dabbed off with itself. This ensures a technically and visually clean seal without the need for additional cleaning agents.
The product is used for permanently plastic seals in various industrial applications. It is particularly suitable for parts that are removed for repair or maintenance purposes.
FIELD OF APPLICATION
SikaLastomer®-514 G can be used to seal and create removable or plastic joints. The product is well suited for parts that need to be easily removed for repair or maintenance.
SikaLastomer®-514 G is widely used in the manufacture and maintenance of buses, caravans, motor homes, automobiles and other similar industrial applications.
SikaLastomer®-514 G shows good adhesion to a variety of clean and dry substrates without surface pre-treatment and is easy to apply.
As SikaLastomer®-514 G is a pure sealant, the relevant parts must be mechanically fastened.
This product is only suitable for experienced users. To ensure adhesion and material compatibility, preliminary tests must be carried out with original materials under the respective conditions.

CHEMICAL RESISTANCE
SikaLastomer®-514 G is generally resistant to fresh water, sea water, lime water and aqueous cleaning agents; it is not resistant to fuels, oils and solvents.

PROCESSING INSTRUCTIONS
Surface preparation
Adhesion surfaces must be clean and free from grease, oil, dust and water. Adhesion must be checked by pre-testing with original materials.
Application
Apply the sealant to the joint, avoiding air bubbles, or spread a continuous bead over the sealing surface.
Do not apply at ambient temperatures below 5 °C and above 35 °C. SikaLastomer®-514 G can be applied with a suitable manual or pneumatic gun.
Smoothing
The sealant can be blotted with itself a few minutes after application.
Post-treatment agents must be tested for suitability and compatibility prior to application.
Removal
Uncured SikaLastomer®-514 G can be removed from tools or the work area using Sika® Remover-208. On non-porous surfaces, allow the sealant to dry and remove by blotting.
Hands/skin must be washed immediately with suitable cleaning wipes (e.g. Sika® Handclean) or industrial hand cleaners and water.
Do not use solvents on the skin!
Recoatability
SikaLastomer®-514 G cannot be painted over.
STORAGE CONDITIONS
SikaLastomer®-514 G must be stored in a dry place between 10 °C and 30 °C. Do not expose to direct sunlight or frost. Do not expose to direct sunlight or frost.
