Loctite 242 is a suitable fastener and lock for threaded joints where easy manual disassembly is required after curing. It secures screws against spontaneous loosening due to vibrations and shocks.
Self-loosening screws is a problem that can be very dangerous in many cases. The Loctite 242 threaded joint lock, which at the same time perfectly seals the thread, prevents spontaneous loosening, which occurs precisely because of frequent vibrations.
It is applied directly to the thread, where it subsequently hardens in the joint between the two surfaces and thus secures and seals the joint at the same time.
Loctite 242 is a medium strength lock, so it can be removed manually at any time after curing. It is also characterized by increased resistance to temperature, up to 150 °C. We recommend it for various securing of screws of electronic components, connectors, set screws and the like.
