QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
What do I have to consider before the first refuelling?
The refillable gas cylinders are tested for leaks at the factory using air pressure. The test pressure is then released. Therefore, the Withdrawal valve (hand wheel) should be opened before refuelling to release residual pressure and then closed again. However, a small amount of residual air remains in the refillable gas cylinder. During the first refuelling, this causes an enormous coldness inside the tank. In exceptional cases, the float of the fill stop valve may ice up and not close in time. Therefore, never fill more than 26L into the bottle. Even with a two-bottle system, never refuel more than specified. During the refuelling process, keep an eye on the fuel pump's running mechanism; if necessary, stop it manually.
What are the differences between the bottles you offer?
The most important difference is the material. If weight is not an important factor for you, steel cylinders are the cheapest option for sustainable gas supply. If you absolutely want to get by with less additional weight, you should consider our ALUGAS or composite cylinders. For more details, please refer to the respective product description of the cylinders.
Is a declaration of conformity from ALUGAS supplied?
Yes, a declaration of conformity can be sent as a PDF file on request after purchase.
What happens after 10 years?
After 10 years, the cylinder must be retested or replaced.
Are there cylinders that do not have to be tested after 10 years?
Only cylinders with 67R-01 approval do not have to undergo a 10-year test unless the manufacturer stipulates it. This would be the case, for example, with the black steel bottle in our range.
Is the bottle allowed to lie down?
In order to guarantee the function of the 80% fill stop and a gaseous withdrawal, the bottle must be mounted vertically.
How must the bottle be mounted?
If you are using the bottle with an external filling valve, the bottle must be mounted securely in accordance with G607. Please discuss your plans in advance with a specialist workshop, a G607 expert or the responsible testing organisation (TÜV/DEKRA/GTÜ/KÜS etc.).
Do I need an acceptance test?
After the cylinder has been permanently installed, an acceptance test by the responsible testing organisation is required.
Where is the nearest G607 expert in my area?
Depending on the region, we can help you find a G607 expert. Simply send us a message with your postcode using the contact form.
Where can I have the cylinder installed?
The cylinders should be installed by a specialist company. If you wish, we can arrange for the installation company in your area. Simply contact us via the contact form and tell us your postcode.
Can I fill up at any LPG filling station?
Once the installation has been approved, you can fill up at any filling station in Europe.
Which gas can be refuelled?
The so-called bottled gas from the conventional exchange bottles is basically no different from LPG, which you refuel on your own. Both gases are a mixture of propane and butane. Abroad, LPG is also called GLP or GPL.
Why are so many different sets offered?
